First United Methodist Church
Kewanee, Illinois
God’s mission
has been on the heart of women throughout history.
With faith, hope and
love, women have been responding to God’s call in their lives.
Since it’s founding close to
we will celebrate our 150th Anniversary in
2019.
The work of the United Methodist Women
is focused on the mission set for us by Jesus Christ,
as expressed through the PURPOSE
and lived out through our VISION.
PURPOSE OF UNITED METHODIST
WOMEN
The organized unit of United
Methodist Women shall be a community of women,
whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as
whole persons through Jesus Christ;
to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand
concepts of missions through participation in global
ministries of the church.
Meetings
are held every second Thursday of the month except January, at
11:45am in Fellowship Hall.
Luncheon meetings are hosted by the circles of the
church. We enjoy
lunch with a business meeting following and a program.
We
support mission projects – local, national and around the
world – with our love, gifts and prayers.
We try to support our women with fellowship in times of
difficulty and loneliness.
We
try to become whole women through reading, study and prayers.
A United Methodist Woman is a link with the past, a
powerful force in the present and an investment in the future.
