A Message From Our Pastor

You are invited to connect with myself (Pastor Kevin Drane) and my wife, Marlene, as we continue our ministry at Kewanee First United Methodist Church. We are excited to be a part of the Kewanee community and look forward to connecting with all our fellow “Kewanee-ans”. As I consider the opportunities that Kewanee First allows its members, as well as its guests, connecting is the first thought that comes to my mind.

At KFUMC you have an opportunity to CONNECT with our Triune God, CONNECT with one another and CONNECT with the Kewanee community. Our worship is devoted to Connecting with God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Come and hear your new pastor and meet his wife… we would love to connect with you!

At KFUMC you will have an opportunity to GROW in your relationship with God, Jesus & the Holy Spirit, GROW in your relationship with other worshippers at First UMC and Grow in your love for the community we know as Kewanee. At KFUMC we have the opportunity to GROW in our knowledge of God but also to GROW experientially in Christ. To learn about God (head knowledge) is important but to be in relationship with Jesus and in touch with the Holy Spirit is crucial. Come GROW with us as Christian disciples.

Lastly, at KFUMC we have an opportunity to SERVE together. We will strive to SERVE God, SERVE our community and actually, in our own small way, SERVE the world through our efforts here in Kewanee, Illinois. What a privilege it will be for us to SERVE here at KFUMC. We sincerely hope you will join us in Serving God, the Kewanee community and the world.

Come and see! Worship with us. Worship is for everyone who longs for God – believers as well as those who are seeking… seeking a new paradigm, seeking a peace that surpasses all understanding and seeking true and lasting relationships. Worship is about honoring, praising and glorifying our Lord and Savior. It is a time when we gather together to experience the presence of the Holy Spirit, and express our joy, our awe, and our heart-felt gratitude. God, the originator of generosity, will bless the investment of your time at Saturday or Sunday worship. Our Almighty God heals us physically, emotionally and spiritually. God pours his grace upon us. God’s grace is sufficient for you…    .

Come worship and hear the Word of God. God’s Word brings healing to the broken and hope to the hopeless. I hope you will join us on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. or Sunday at 9:00 a.m. We truly look forward to CONNECTING, GROWING, and SERVING, with you.

Sincerely,

Kevin & Marlene Drane
